CanSkate Stage 1
Program focus on balance, skater will learn:
- balance on two feet with eyes focus( posture body alignment )
- Marching on the spot
- Walking forward and backward.
- Walking backward (8 steps )
- Falling down - getting up
- Making "Snow"
- Two foot quarter turns on one sport
- Walking around on the spot
- Two foot jump on the spot
CanSkate Stage 2
Program focus on glide forward, skater will learn:
- Consecutive push/glide sequence (forward) - mins 8 thrusts
- Forward glide ( two feet and one foot )
- Forward half sit glide
- Two foot spin
- Two foot jumping while gliding forward
CanSkate Stage 3
Program focus on glide backward, skater will learn:
- Consecutive push/glide sequence (forward) - mins 8 thrusts
- Forward glide ( two feet and one foot )
- Forward half sit glide
- Two foot spin
- Two foot jumping while gliding forward
CanSkate Stage 4
Program focus on glide backward, skater will learn:
- Forward glide on curve (two feet to one feet)
- Backward glide on curve( two feet to one foot )
- Forward two-foot side stop
- Turning on a curve forward to backward and backward to forward ( one foot )
- Outside "3" turn
- Inside "3" turn
- Forward one-foot spin (one revolution)
- Two-foot sit spin
- Two-foot jump forward to backward and backward to forward on a curve
CanSkate Stage 5
Program focus on Power, skater will learn:
- Forward circle thrusts
- Edge development (step/step/step and hold on alternating )
- Backward circle thrusts ( clockwise and counter clockwise )
- One foot stop
- Turning on a curve from backward to forward changing feet (Mohawk) ( outside to outside, inside to inside )
- Forward one-foot spin ( more than one revolution )
- One-foot back spin ( one revolution )
- One-foot jump forward to backward (three jump)
- Forward power jump ( bunny hop )
CanSkate Stage 6
Program focus on Speed, skater will learn:
- Fast forward perimeter stroking clockwise,counterclockwise, backward crosscuts in figure eight pattern.
- Edge development (step/step/step and hold on alternating curves )
- Two-foot side stop with speed ( forwards )
- Circle stroking with crosscuts and turns ( 3's and Mohawks ) opt direction
- Turning backward to forward on a curve ( on one foot )
- One-foot spin with a forward outside spiralling edge entry
- One-foot back spin ) more than one revolution
- Back toe-assisted jump
- Rotating power jump ( waltz jump )
